Supervision and management of construction started to emerge as a serious field of profession also in our country in a proper and similar form to the well established modern approach obtaining all over the advanced corners of world.
In this respect, the management and supervision construction works of Erhac Airport supplied an intensive experience to our company. Erhac, situated at Malatya, is a standard airport with a runway of 3400 meters length just by the side of and serving a NATO airbase as well as civil domestic and international flights.
It was decided in 1989 that this airport be rehabilitated by recapping its runway and shoulders, repairing and partly renewing all the drainage system, fully renewing the barriers, lighting and communication systems and finally refurbishing the fresh water supply of air base with an underground reservoir of large capacity. We, then, undertook the management and supervision of construction including choosing and erecting all necessary equipment and plants, supplying all the design and shop drawings apace and synchronized with construction activities and carrying the required field surveying and measurements. Works concluded successfully in six months and all the migrated planes of the airbase landed back as scheduled.
Mentionable in this context also are many biddings for the supervision and consultancy works of important projects, which we have participated with high qualification points, and which included Arakli-Rize-Cayeli Divided Costal Highway and Golcuk-Pozanti Motorway Constructions designed by us.
Through on official Consultancy Contract, the design of many bridges and viaducts with total area of over 30 000 m2, was supervised by the firm on behalf of General Directorate of Highways between 1997-2004.
Additionally, the seismic retrofit design works of a total amount of 144 bridges in Istanbul is presently under the supervision of our company, in conformity with AASHTO, CALTRANS and FEMA specifications. The client of the bridge retrofitting project is General Directorate of Highways.
Also, the company is presently in charge of construction supervision and consultancy of two tunnels in Van and Bitlis, with lengths of 2km each.
We surely feel well prepared and equipped in this important and promising field and will continue to participate and provide service in the future projects we deem proper.
